  • Bronte Towler

Studio Owner & Director | Ballet & Contemp

As the Owner and Director of Élevé Dance Academy, I am passionate about creating a supportive and inspiring space for dancers of all levels. My love for ballet began at the age of three, training at Moree School of Dance under Miss Cora Black and Miss Michelle Black, as well as at Classical Dance Conservatory under Miss Audra Grierson and Miss Lorraine Kruger. I trained as a prima ballerina until 16, completing my Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) exams from Primary through Grade 7 with Distinction - the highest level of achievement awarded in RAD examinations. I also had the exciting opportunity to audition for the National Ballet School of Canada’s Summer Program.

Beyond my dance background, I bring over 10 years of experience in marketing, administration, and business management, including running my own daycare. I was the owner of Cam's Daycare in Uptown Waterloo for two years, and in its first year of business - just before COVID - it was awarded Best Daycare of 2018 by the City of Waterloo. Additionally, I am an active member of the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association National, furthering my commitment to excellence in dance education.

To continue growing as an educator, I have earned certification in the Dance Teacher Developing Teacher Theory Course through IDTS (International Dance Teaching Standards) and am a proud member of Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), where I am continually expanding my knowledge of safe and effective ballet training methods. I have also completed specialized training in Creative Dance Methods and the Teaching Dance - Empowered Course, enhancing my approach to dance instruction with innovative and student-centered teaching strategies.

As a ballet instructor, I am thrilled to share my knowledge and passion with my students, helping them develop strong technique, confidence, and artistry. I look forward to welcoming you to our studio and being a part of your dance journey!

  • Avery Garrard

Studio Instructor | Ballet, Jazz & Contemp

Avery has been dancing since the age of three and has developed a lifelong passion for the art of dance. Over the years, she spent five seasons as a competitive dancer, gaining valuable experience in performance, discipline, teamwork and dedication before returning to recreational dance. Avery has trained in a variety of styles, including ballet, jazz, hip hop, acro, contemporary and lyrical. While she enjoys all forms of dance, contemporary is her strongest style and the one she is most passionate about. She has also successfully completed her PAEC Ballet examinations, further strengthening her technical foundation and understanding of ballet technique.

In addition to her own dance training, Avery has spent the past two years working as a dance assistant at The Guelph Academy of Dance, where she has enjoyed mentoring young dancers and helping them build confidence, develop new skills and foster a love for dance. Avery is excited to share her knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for dance with the students at Élevé Dance Academy and help inspire the next generation of dancers.
